Hey Baby, Let’s Go To Vegas!
Since I was a young woman, before I had ever even really been to Vegas, Faith Hill made a song called “Let’s Go to Vegas”… Anyone else remember?
Now, every time I think of Vegas, I think of this song. I can’t help it. My life is just one big song lyric. But, that is not the point of this post. Lol.
Chris and I decided to get married in the gorgeous mountains of Sedona. We spent time there once and since Arizona is where we met, where most of our kids are from and where we started our own family, we felt the red rocks calling.
After our wedding we plan to stay in Sedona for a few days at our super cute Airbandb, enjoying time away, just the two of us… you know, Honeymooning.
But, Sedona is kind of a sleepy town and Chris and I like to get out, especially when we have no kids (which is literally never) so, after a few days enjoying the beauty of our wedding destination, we are going to do something I have never done before – visit the Grand Canyon! I know, what? I swear I tried and it just never worked out.
We are going to make it a point to spend some time at the Grand Canyon before heading on to our REAL honeymoon spot…
VEGAS BABY!!!!!
The Grand Canyon is about 130 miles from the heart of Las Vegas. On average, the drive takes approximately two and a half hours. But, we are going to drive the Hellcat so… we’ll prob get there in like an hour and a half. lol. JUST KIDDING MOM.
While we luxuriate (super chill) in Vegas we’re going to eat all the food (gain back all the weight we just lost) and watch all the shows. Our dear friends “The Beckley’s” are going to join us towards the end to help us celebrate. They’ve known us for as long as anyone could know “us” and that means they can join us on ANY Vegas trip, EVERRR! Especially since we skipped out on all the traditional celebrations, such as an engagement party, bridal shower or bachelor party. (so looking forward to our mini celebration in Vegas guys!)
I tried to get our other good friends to come (Tatiana and Ian, the invite still stands!) but we get it, going anywhere when you have a job and kids is, well, hard enough but then add a global pandemic to the mix and just forget about it.
See why we just decided to flippin elope?
“You can't buy happiness, but you can go to Vegas and that's kind of the same thing.”
