Deciding to Elope in Sedona
Dear Friends and Family!
Chris and I would have loved nothing more than to have all of you with us on our wedding day. It’s been a really tough decision. Due to the pandemic and our crazy, busy lives, we made the tough choice to elope on our own. We felt it was best for us at this time. We waited 12 years to marry each other. We thought we wanted a big wedding and started looking at venues and making lists… but every time we thought we had some sort of a plan, COVID made things uncertain.
Should we book a venue knowing it might be cancelled? Do we really want to pay for a location and only be able to invite a small amount of guests? Who do we include? Who can we exclude to meet the maximum number of limited capacity? What if new travel restrictions delay our plans?
Not fun planning a wedding this way, let me tell ya. In fact, I couldn’t. I just sat frozen in time.
So, instead of continuing to stress out about venues and COVID and the possibility of losing our date, we made the choice to elope.
Getting Married on 2.22.22
Our 12th anniversary happens to be on 2.22.22. How amazingly incredible is that? I just love the idea that 1 + 1 = 2 and 2 become 1 when they marry. And, the number 2 is said to be a representation of harmony, kinship, and cooperation. Aw!
So, when the opportunity presented itself, we jumped on it. On Tuesday on February 22nd of 2022, Chris and I will be married on a mountain in Sedona. (I’m gonna cry)
For the family and friends that can’t be with us, we love you and will be thinking of you on our day!
Our beautiful elopement team includes photographers and videographers to capture the details and special moments. We plan to have a celebration later in the year where we can share our photos and video with those that love us most.
In the meantime, please send me your address so I can send you an announcement and invite if you’d like one.
Thanks for your understanding, love and support.
